Canadian Junior Scholarship Championship & CYCC Emergency Flash Qualifier

• WHEN:  Saturday, Jan 10th 2025, 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm. Rd #1 starts at 6:30 pm.
• SCHEDULE:  6:00 check in, 6:30 - 9:30 tournament
• WHERE: Duncan Academy, 730 Cochrane Dr #1, Markham, ON L3R 8E1, Canada
• WHAT: 5-round single-round Rapid Event (Swiss), using a 10 min + 5 sec time control.
• REQUIREMENTS: Players must be born after Jan 1, 2008
• SECTIONS: U8 U10 U12 U14 U16 U18(sections may be combined if there are insufficient players)
• RATED: CFC Quick Rated
• TIEBREAK RULES:  1) Direct encounter 2) Buchholz 3) Number of games won (not including forfeits) 4) Sonneborn-Berger
• REGISTRATION: On-line registration ends  Jan 10th at 5:30 pm. No on-site registration will be accepted.
• ENTRY FEE:$40 per entry

PRIZE: Medals for the Top 3 in each Division. 

• Pre-registered and pre-paid participants who withdraw at least 3 days before the event start date are eligible for a refund via EMT, subject to a $5 handling fee deducted from the entry fee. In all other cases, the full credit will be retained for use in future events.
