RULES This tournament is CFC rated and will adhere to the FIDE rules of chess, and will be enforced by the arbiters! Some key rules and guidelines for this tournament include the following: Touch-move, touch-take: If you touch your own piece with the intention of moving it, you must move this piece. If you touch your opponent's piece, you must capture the piece if there is a legal move. You must say “I adjust” to adjust your pieces during your turn. Players are not allowed to adjust during their opponent’s time. No recording is necessary for this tournament, however it is strongly recommended if you want to analyze your game after. Forfeit time: If your opponent does not show up for 25 minutes, they forfeit the game and you get a full point. Electronic devices: No electronic devices are allowed on your person during games. Please turn them off during games or leave them outside the playing room.
