Dates: Starts on Saturday, June 13, 2026@10am

Location: 730 Cochrane Dr #1,Markham ( Duncan Academy , spacious place with free Wi-Fi , indoor badminton court and table tennis room)

Eligibility: Ontario residents born on or after January 1, 2006; no rating restrictions; CFC membership required

Registration: On-line registration ends June 12th at 10:00 pm. No on-site registration will be accepted. 

Capacity: up to 180 players

Time Control: 60 minutes + 30 seconds a move 

Format: 5 Rounds Swiss (CFC regular rated)

Section: Open(1900+); U1900; U1500

Schedule: 

Round 1: Saturday, June 13, 10 am

Round 2: Saturday, Jun3 13, 2 pm

Round 3: Saturday, June 13, 6 pm

Round 4: Sunday, June 14, 11 am

Round 5: Sunday, June 14, 3 pm

The default forfeit time for any game is 30 min

Entry Fees: 

Playing up: Add $20 if playing up. A player must be within 100 points of the rating floor for the section they wish to play up in.

Byes:  A maximum of two half point byes in the first 3 rounds if requested with entry; zero points byes are allowed for round 4 and 5; All bye requests must be emailed to [email protected]

Prizes:

Special notes:  The organizer will supply all chess pieces, chess boards, and clocks.; In case of equality of points the ranking will be decided by tie-break using 1) Direct encounter 2) Buchholz 3) Number of games won (not including forfeits) 4) Sum of the rating of opponent

Cancellation Fees: No refunds will be issued. However, a credit will be kept for any future events organized by Chess4win
