When: Sunday, April 19th, 2026, 12:30 pm – 6:00 pm

Format: 7-round CFC-rated, FIDE-rated, Swiss Tournament

Location: 205 Placer Ct, North York, ON M2H 0A9

Time Control: 10 mins + 5  secs/move increment

Capacity: 150 players

Rounds:  12:30 pm, 1:15 pm, 2:00 pm, 2:45 pm, 3:30 pm, 4:15 pm, 5:00 pm 

Sections:  Crown, U1800, U1400 (rated CFC Quick in all sections, FIDE rated top-two sections, no playing up allowed , Best of cfc quick and fide rapid for section placement. other cfc/fide ratings may be considered at arbiter's discretion) 

Prizes:

🏆 Crown Section — $1,400

  • 1st Place: $700

  • 2nd Place: $420

  • 3rd Place: $280

⚔️ U1800 Section — $840

  • 1st Place: $420

  • 2nd Place: $260

  • 3rd Place: $160

♟️ U1400 Section — $560

  • 1st Place: $280

  • 2nd Place: $160

  • 3rd Place: $120

Prize Policy:

  • Prize amounts are based on 120 fully paid entries.
  • Prize money will be split in case of ties.
  • The organizer reserves the right to adjust prizes proportionally if the total number of entries changes.

Entry Fees: $50 by April 8th at 11:59 pm, $55 afterwards, free entry for IM/WIM by April 8th at 11:59 pm ; free entry for  GM/WGM

Registration: Online registration by Sunday, April 19th at 10:00 am. No onsite registration.

Byes: Up to one 1/2 point bye for rounds 1-5 can be requested by emailing us by Saturday. April 18th at 11:59pm.

Detailed Schedule:

  • Round 1 — 12:30 pm ~ 1:15 pm

  • Round 2 — 1:15 pm ~ 2:00 pm

  • Round 3 — 2:00 pm ~ 2:45 pm

  • Round 4 — 2:45 pm ~ 3:30 pm

  • Round 5 — 3:30 pm ~ 4:15 pm

  • Round 6 — 4:15 pm ~ 5:00 pm

  • Round 7 — 5:00 pm ~ 5:45 pm

  • Trophy Ceremony: 5:50 pm

NOTES: No requested bye points in this event. Clocks and chess set are provided. By signing up, you permit Chess4win the ability to take and use photos from the tournament on its social media. If you would not like your photo used, please email us at [email protected].

 

 

WITHDRAW POLICY:

  • Pre-registered and pre-paid participants who withdraw at least 3 days before the event start date are eligible for a refund via EMT, subject to a $5 handling fee deducted from the entry fee.
  • Withdrawals made 1 day before the event will receive full credit, which may be applied to future events.
  • No refunds or credits will be issued for withdrawals made on the tournament day.
